Since 2 March 2026, Israeli attacks on Lebanon and forced displacement orders have caused nearly 1 in 5 people in Lebanon, over 1 million people, to leave their homes. Of the 1 million people forced to leave their homes, 134,377 people are in government shelters, with hundreds of thousands living with friends and family, or forced to sleep on the streets.
Since 2 March 2026, Israel has killed at least 1,000 people in Lebanon, including 118 children and 40 healthcare workers. Before Israel’s latest war on Lebanon, Israel was breaking the previous ceasefire agreement daily, with over 15,400 violations recorded between November 2024 and February 2026.
Now, the south of Lebanon is being emptied of its inhabitants by Israeli occupation forces as they use internationally banned weapons, such as white phosphorus, a chemical substance that ignites on contact with oxygen and burns at extremely high temperatures, causing severe injuries, fires, and long-lasting environmental damage. Israel is also blowing up civilian infrastructure, including bridges, homes, and power infrastructure across the country.
Israeli airstrikes have destroyed entire residential buildings in the suburbs of Beirut, a densely populated urban environment, with multiple members of the same family often killed together. The same war crimes committed in Gaza are now being committed in Lebanon.
What we are seeing in southern Lebanon is ethnic cleansing and occupation, just like in Gaza. Israeli officials explicitly threatened to turn parts of Lebanon into Gaza just days ago. You cannot let this continue.
