Israel is
embarking on their
biggest invasion of Lebanon since the 2006 war, with Israeli media reporting the
mobilisationof up to 450,000 reserve troops as part of preparations for a full ground incursion in Lebanon.
Israeli officials are explicitly threatening to turn parts of Lebanon into Gaza, just as they threatened Gaza with obliteration before two-and-a-half years of what the United Nations has
found to be a genocide. “We are going to do what we did in Gaza”, a senior Israeli official said, speaking to
Axios. Bezalel
Smotrich also
threatened that “Very soon Dahiyeh will resemble Khan Yunis.” In July 2025, satellite imagery revealed the level of destruction unleashed on Khan Younis by Israel, with Israeli outlet Haaretz
describing ‘almost nothing is left’.
Before Israel’s latest war on Lebanon, Israel was breaking the previous ceasefire agreement daily, with over
15,400 violations recorded between November 2024 and February 2026.
Since renewing its war on Lebanon on
March 2nd 2026, Israel has killed
886 people and wounded 2,141. At least 38 health workers have been killed and 69 wounded by Israel during the same period.
Over
800,000 people in Lebanon have now been forcibly displaced from their homes.
Over the weekend, the ICJ-designated
apartheid state continued
mass bombing campaigns across Lebanon, including civilian areas in the country’s capital, Beirut. Journalists also described the
targeting of displacement tents, an act we have seen as a regular occurrence in Gaza.
Recent ground operations and reports also indicate large swathes of southern Lebanon may soon be under
Israeli control and cut off from the rest of the country.
The crimes against humanity committed in Gaza have gone entirely unpunished by the international community,
enabling the continuation of the ongoing genocide. Without threat of recourse from its ‘allies’, Israel pushes on to expand its crimes against humanity to Lebanon, using its tactics in Gaza as a blueprint. And Israeli officials are telling you this is what they intend to do. But what will you do?
You must act. I call on you to urgently:
- Impose full, comprehensive sanctions on Israel, and end diplomatic ties.
- Enforce a complete two-way trade embargo, ending all import and export activity.
- Immediately end all arms sales and intelligence cooperation with the apartheid state.
- Ensure unimpeded access for aid and humanitarian organisations.
- Demand an end to the illegal occupation of Palestinian and Syrian territories.
