A UN commission of inquiry has
concluded that Israel continues to deliberately target and kill Palestinian children, amounting to genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity in Gaza, as well as war crimes in the occupied West Bank. This is the
second time the UN has concluded Israel’s actions in Palestine constitute genocide.
The commission found 30% of those killed by Israeli forces were children. According to UNICEF, more than
50,000children have been killed or wounded since October 2023.
“The evidence shows that Palestinian children have been deliberately targeted and killed by the Israeli security forces. Even after the October 2025 ceasefire, children continue to be killed and seriously injured, with continued disregard by Israel for the ceasefire and for the protection owed to Palestinian children under international law.” – Srinivasan Muralidhar, chair of the commission.
The report also found that Israel’s attacks on neonatal and maternity care facilities have directly endangered Palestinians’ reproductive future and the survival of newborns, contributing to rising rates of miscarriages, birth defects, and long-term health complications.
In September 2025,
another report concluded that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza and that Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had incited these acts. Netanyahu is currently wanted by the ICC for war crimes in Gaza. The same month saw the world’s leading association of genocide scholars
declare that Israel is committing genocide.
The UN has warned that Palestinian children are being left “increasingly unprotected” as aid organisations and rights groups are forced to scale back operations. Beyond being killed and injured, Palestinian children continue to be
arrestedby Israeli occupation forces and subjected to
torture and
sexual abuse in Israeli prisons.
Israel must be held to account. The genocide,
apartheid and occupation must end.
I urge you to immediately:
- Publicly recognise the UN inquiry findings of genocide.
- Impose full, comprehensive sanctions on Israel.
- Enforce a complete two-way trade embargo, ending all import and export activity.
- Immediately end all arms sales and intelligence cooperation.
- Ensure unimpeded access for aid and humanitarian organisations.
- Demand an end to the illegal occupation.
