Sanctions Now: Israel’s Expansion of Gaza Must End

Since the ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza began, Israel has continued its near-daily airstrikes across the strip. More than 1,000Palestinians have now been killed and a further 3,100 injured in over 3,300 Israeli ceasefire violations. Since 10 October 2025, the day the ceasefire was announced, Israel has killed an average of one child every day in Gaza, according to the UN.
Israel’s decimation of Gaza has not ceased, and its illegal physical military occupation of the strip only increases. Last month, ICC-wanted war criminal Netanyahu announced, “We are going in order— First 70%.” He then added, “We’ll start with that.” The comments suggest that Israel’s expansion will not stop at 70%, but continue until Gaza has been ethnically cleansed of its Palestinian population. 1.9 million Palestinians are already concentrated in less than 35% of Gaza.
By mid-April, Israel had established permanent fortified military sites in the Gaza Strip along the current military control line. Euro-Med documented at least 20 military sites in eastern Gaza, which it said were designed to “consolidate long-term control over large parts of the Gaza Strip in preparation for annexation.”
“The sites consist of elevated mounds and embankments spanning large areas, with troops and military vehicles stationed there, along with radio towers, watchtowers, and other logistical equipment. This indicates an effort to entrench a permanent military presence and impose new facts on the ground.”
“This is a new apartheid wall being established in the Gaza Strip,” Mahmoud al-Raqab, a displaced resident of Khan Younis, said. “Today, they place concrete blocks. Tomorrow, they will build high walls. They are separating our lands, placing barriers between us and our homes, imposing restrictions on our movement to our houses, farms, and lands, separating people from their property and original areas, and gradually swallowing our land before our eyes.”
Under the guise of a “fragile ceasefire”, Israel continues its killings and ethnic cleansing of Gaza without recourse. The military claims new airstrikes only target Hamas, yet the same line has been spouted for 3 years and has seen a civilian fatality rate of 83% according to Israel’s own military data (independent analysts estimate far higher).
There is no denying that the genocide continues in Gaza. Labelling what exists today as a ceasefire shields Israel from accountability for its crimes against humanity and enables their continuation.
I call on you to urgently:
  • Impose full, comprehensive sanctions on Israel.
  • Enforce a complete two-way trade embargo, ending all import and export activity.
  • Immediately end all arms sales and intelligence cooperation.
  • Ensure unimpeded access for aid and humanitarian organisations.
  • Demand an end to the illegal occupation.
